1st Weds. of every month: What's up Wednesday Hustle night at The Sign of the Whale
Join us Weds., Oct. 7, and every 1st Weds. at The Sign of the Whale for a special Hustle Meetup called What's up Wednesday.
Come out and have some fun! You do not have to bring a dance partner. Come alone or with a friend--we will make you feel welcome.
7:15 – 8:00 pm: Intro to Hustle Lesson $5
8:00 – 11 pm: Hustle Dance: (No Cover Charge)
DJ Girl Wonder spins the very best of Contemporary Hustle and Classic Disco, Funk and R&B mixed with West Coast Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, and Night Club 2-Step
Dinner is served until 10 pm and appetizers are ½ off all night. Weds. are Lady’s night with $1.75 drink specials for the ladies after 5 pm. (Drinks for the guys are only $2.50 and up). Please support the restaurant with a food or beverage purchase in lieu of cover charge. Doors open at 11 am and close at midnite.
Great sound system with plenty of room to dance on the smooth concrete floor.
Parking is free and easy.

2009 Update: Will we see Hustle on "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2009? How many times do we have to stomach Doriana Sanchez's "Disco" choreography? Hopefully, viewers realize that her version of "Disco" is NOT related to HUSTLE!
For a number of years, Hustle dancing has not received its dues on national television. Since the days of Dance Fever, Soul Train, Disco Step By Step, Soap Factory, Don Kirshner, Soul Alive...... television has forgotten Hustle. In many cases, it has been misrepresented. Some viewers relate Hustle to a dated form of Saturday Night Fever, John Travolta polyester suits and poses, afro wigs, or line dancing.
"So You Think You Can Dance" recruited Hustle Hall Of Fame members Maria Torres along with Kenny Gonzalez to teach and choreograph a New York Style Hustle routine for two of the remanding 14 contestants. The routine was awesome! See it: Lacey and Kameron hustle
